Bring your class or year group to Drusillas Park and experience a fun and interactive day out. All sessions include creative teaching methods and hands on experience with a variety of animals. Sessions are accompanied by teacher packs containing background information and a range of classroom ideas. From pre-school through to GNVQ and A Level, Drusillas Park can provide curriculum linked sessions and resources for you and your students.

Through innovative costumes and artifacts we take a close look at animal babies, parental care and the variety of homes that parents build to protect their young.
Animal Care
An Animal care session enables children to gain expert knowledge and top tips in caring for pets at home. Children get close to a range of fascinating creatures and learn how to keep pets happy and healthy. An advanced animal care session for 14+ years is also available.
Role Of Zoos And Conservation
This session looks at how zoos have evolved and improved through time and allows children to explore the concept of conservation. Find out why some animals are becoming rare and discover how zoos work together globally to help increase animal populations.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
Animal Encounters
Encounter a range of animals and artifacts in this fun, sensory experience. Sessions can be themed to a particular topic and basic makaton can be used on request.
VOCATIONAL SESSIONS
Drusillas Education Department offer an insight into the workings of a successful leisure attraction with vocational sessions covering Customer Service, Marketing, ICT and Management Of A Visitor Attraction. Animal Care and the Role Of Zoos And Conservation are also available. All of these sessions include a tour of the Park with one of our Education Officers.
ICT
ICT has been added to the list of vocational options available for the 14-18 age group. ICT is an integral component of Drusillas Park, whether enhancing our visitors enjoyment, maintaining animal enclosures or improving the efficiency of our business. This Powerpoint presented talk comes complete with an in-depth tour of the Park.
Animal Care
Animal Care sessions enable students how to gain expert knowledge in how we look after our exotic animals at Drusillas Park. Topics covered include enclosure design, group size, diet and enrichment and cover a host of animals from penguins to primates. This session can be focused upon our farmyard or Petworld animals if required.
