Want to do your bit for charity and find a reason to get the kids exercising in the fresh air? We've found
the solution – The Barnardo’s Big Toddle at Drusillas Park on Friday 6th June.
Drusillas is hosting one of the hundreds of Big Toddles that will be taking place all over the country this
summer. This annual half-mile sponsored walk for under 5s saw almost 400,000 toddlers from across the UK
register in 2007, raising £1.4 million for Barnardo's work with disadvantaged children and their families.
To take part this year, call the Barnardo's Big Toddle helpline on 0845 270 9900. All entrants must be
registered in advance of the event.

Empire tamarins are a highly endangered species, found naturally in the tropical rainforests of Central and
South America. They take their name after the 19th Century Emperor, Wilhelm II of Germany, who they are said
to resemble on account of their distinctive moustaches.
Lucy and Tiny Tim were introduced at the zoo in 2006. Since then, these mini monkeys have been making a
huge impression on each other and on 12th April a new generation was born into the tamarin empire. Make
sure you look out for the fan-tash-tic new arrival on your next visit.

After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue our monthly e-newsletter, Mungo's Mailer. The
newsletter had been in production for nearly two years but a low number of subscriptions, combined with the
amount of time and resources involved in its creation, led us to re-evaluate its effectiveness.
However, you can still stay up to date with all the news and events from around the Park by keeping an eye
on this page of our website. Why not add it to your favourites?

Drusillas Park is currently celebrating the arrival of cotton-topped tamarin twins at the zoo. The two
tiny bundles of fur were born on 19th March and are doing well under the guidance of proud parents, John
and Georgie.
Both parents play a role in caring for the young and it is usually the male who carries the babies, before
giving them back to the female for nursing. The twins continue to do well however, it shouldn't be too
long before these cotton buddies start to explore their new surroundings for themselves.

special spider powers on Friday 30th May. For further details and full listings, please see the events page.

Deep in the heart of Drusillas, zoo explorers will discover a rather grouchy new resident.
Cruncher the Croc is an animatronic crocodile, who likes nothing better than to jaw with passers by that
disturb him.
Making waves within the animal kingdom, Cruncher will be guarding the pond at Drusillas, come rain or shine.
In fact there is nothing he enjoys better than a cold snap!
