About the Spectacled Owls

Spectacled owls are one of the largest tropical owl species and have a dark brown back and head, cream belly and ‘spectacles’ made of whitish feathers around their bright yellow eyes.

Habitat and Distribution

Spectacled owls are found in forests in Central America and northern and central South America.

Family Information

Spectacled owls usually pair for life and their chicks stay with them until they are one year old
