Go Safari

Go Safari! is a brand new African-themed, three-ride attraction which will thrill children of all ages. Jump aboard the Safari Express train (open from 31st March) and let it transport you around the Park whilst surprising you with fun features along the way. Keep your eyes peeled for Majesty the roaring lion and Snigger and Sneer the laughing hyenas!

Then, from June 2017, we'll be opening two new rides - the Hippopotobus and The Flying Cheetahs.
All in all it's just a bit more Drusillas fun!

The Safari Express

The Safari Express train is expected to leave Mungo's Central Station (formerly Tidmouth Hault) for the first time on Friday 31st March 2017 and takes over from Thomas the Tank Engine who retired from service on 8th January 2017. Drusillas will be without a train service from January 9th 2017 until March 30th 2017.

The new rides

Our brand new rides - The Hippopotabus and The Flying Cheetahs - are due to open to visitors from 1st June 2017 but we are hoping to have a 'soft opening' a week or so before that. The rides will be situated in the area of Drusillas which was previously home to Explorers Lagoon.

Please note:

  • There will be some health and safety restrictions with both rides in terms of children's height and whether they need to be accompanied by an adult. As soon as we are advised about the precise details we will make them known on this page.
  • For further information regarding the departure of Thomas from Drusillas Park please see our Directors' Letter
