Drusillas Celebrates the Countdown to Christmas with a Fun Festive Photoshoot

The Drusillas team crafted a series of colourful cardboard Christmas jumpers, each designed to look as though the animals were dressed for the occasion. Penguins, capybaras, pygmy marmosets, meerkats, saki monkeys, and more all took a turn posing behind their winter woollies, resulting in a collection of irresistibly cute photos.

The project added some playful seasonal sparkle with just two weeks until Christmas, highlighting the park’s commitment to engaging families with nature in fun, imaginative ways - and inspiring others to pull on their cosy comfies too!

Head Zookeeper, Gemma Romanis, explained: “We wanted to do something festive, cheerful and mark in the countdown to Christmas, and the cardboard jumpers worked perfectly. The animals loved modelling their “festive fits” and it definitely brought plenty of smiles to both staff and visitors.”

The jumper photoshoot is just one part of Drusillas’ wider seasonal celebrations this December, as the zoo once again transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland filled with sparkling lights, seasonal decorations, and plenty of festive cheer. Families can enjoy a host of magical experiences throughout the season, including the ever-popular Santa Experience, where children can meet Father Christmas in his cosy cottage and receive a special gift - all set against the backdrop of the park’s impressive 24-foot Christmas tree.
