Christmas Naughty and Nice list 2025

Published 22.12.25

Our keepers have been making a Christmas list and checked it twice, and now you can find out who’s naughty and nice! And there’s a new entry topping the naughty list you might find hard to believe (but parents of teens will relate)!

Head keeper, Gemma Romanis, said: “Of course, none of our animals are actually ‘naughty’ in the way we’d use the word for humans, but some of them definitely have stronger personalities and don’t like to play by the rules, so for a bit of festive fun our tradition is for the team to vote on the lists – and this year there’s a new ‘naughty’ winner that might surprise everyone!”

Here's our official animal naughty and nice list for Christmas 2025, from naughtiest to nicest – do you agree with the decisions, or should they be forgiven?

THE NAUGHTY LIST :

1st - Echo the Sloth

Echo has officially entered her rebellious teenage era - and teen parents everywhere will feel seen. She never comes when she’s called, has no concept of “home time” and point-blank refuses to listen to her keepers. Honestly, so unfair. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s also become extremely picky with her food - if it’s not sweet potato, don’t even bother.

Joint 2nd - The Pygmy Marmoset Family

Especially Dad Ben, who has developed a very cheeky taste for the sloths’ food. With his lightning speed and acrobatic skills, he can dart in and steal their favourite snacks before they even get close - stop thief! See if you can spot the pygmy family sprinting off with veg pieces double their size. Tiny monkeys… BIG appetites.

Joint 2nd - Boots the baby binturong

This might not go down well, but baby Boots - the apple of everyone’s eye, has made the naughty list at just four months old! She’s in both the keeper and our gardener’s bad books thanks to her constant redecorating… by destroying plants, bouncing on everything and generally causing chaos. Toddler parents will understand. Of course, she gets away with it thanks to her cheeky charm… and well, have you seen her?

Joint 2nd - Pedro and Romeo the colobus monkeys

This naughty duo have mastered the art of selective hearing. They pick and choose when they feel like listening, when they feel like coming in, and when they feel like causing trouble. Utterly naughty… but very loved. The naughty list may have to be temporarily overlooked for these two.

3rd - Dunk the Humboldt penguin

It’s another red card for Dunk, named after Brighton and Hove Captain, Lewis Dunk, who topped last year’s the naughty list. He’s still full of mischief and has made a habit of nibbling on the keepers’ knees and fingers!

THE NICE LIST:

Joint 1st - Sholo & Pudsey the lar gibbons

Absolute stars and joint top of the nice list - Sholo and Pudsey have smashed their training after moving habitats this year and continue to impress the team every single day. Confident, intelligent and cooperative - and let’s not forget Sholo’s singing voice! If you’ve heard Sholo sing, you’ll know exactly why he’s earned top spot on the nice list.

Joint 1st - Dora the binturong

An incredible Mum to baby Boots, Dora has impressed everyone with her nurturing nature. Attentive, patient and devoted, she’s done an amazing job raising her little one and has most definitely earned her place on the nice list.

Ahsoka and Elsie the Sulawesi crested black macaques:

This devoted Mum and daughter duo come as a pair. Elsie is endlessly funny and cheeky, while Ahsoka is calm, gentle and always delighted to see her keepers. They greet the team happily every single day and are a joy to work with - double the love, double the nice list points.

Raya the giant anteater

Graceful, calm and utterly stunning, Raya earns her place on the nice list simply by being… Raya. Her beauty, elegance and peaceful presence never go unnoticed – and honestly, have you seen that tail?

Gordon the sloth

Friendly, helpful and always happy to cooperate, Gordon is the definition of a good boy. A gentle soul who makes the keepers’ day that little bit easier – and a very deserving nice list entry.

Tank the armadillo

“Perfect in every way” according to many of his keepers, Tank really can do no wrong. He loves nothing more than sunbathing, enjoying tummy scratches and generally being the best boy ever. Sweet-natured and endlessly lovable, it’s no surprise he’s firmly on the nice list.

Dilly the spider monkey

Dilly is quite simply the loveliest girl. She greets keepers at the window every day, tummy pressed up against the glass, ready to say hello. She never fails to make everyone laugh and brighten the day – a guaranteed mood-booster for the nice list.
