Hyrax Hitch a Ride on Tortoise Transporters!

The three young rock hyraxes born at Drusillas Park earlier this year have discovered a rather unconventional way of getting around. Rather than using their own four legs, they have been hitching a ride on the backs of the red-footed tortoises, with whom they share an enclosure.

It may not be the quickest mode of transport but this doesn’t seem to bother the freeloading three. They appear quite happy to take their time,
as the tortoises provide a leisurely lift!
