About the Miniature Donkeys

Miniature donkeys are the smallest member of the horse family (measuring up to 72cm high), and are covered in brown, black, white or grey fur. (Please note, our miniature donkeys move out of their pens from 5pm BST and 4pm GMT into fields where they graze overnight).

Habitat and Distribution

Miniature donkeys are from the Mediterranean islands of Sicily and Sardinia, and since the 1930’s have been popular pets in USA.

Family Information

Miniature donkeys are herd animals and should be kept in pairs or small groups. They have one foal after a gestation (pregnancy) of about 12 months.
